The shoebill is one of the rarest birds on our planet. It inhabits some wetlands in Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan and Zambia. Mambamba is the best place in Uganda to have the opportunity to observe and photograph it.

More information
The driver picks you up at the accommodation around 07:00 am to transfer you to the pier on the shores of Lake Victoria. Here you take a barge to reach the shores that give entrance to Mabamba. Here you take a motorized canoe (shared with other passengers) to navigate between the channels in order to find the shoebill. The complete tour is approximately 4 hours.
In addition to this peculiar bird, 250 different species of birds have been recorded in Mambama, some of which you can also observe and photograph.
