The plains of this impressive national park are home to the second largest wildebeest migration in Africa, after the Serengeti-Masai Mara migration. With the added bonus that here you will hardly find any visitors.

The remoteness of the region and the low profile of the national park encourage very few travellers are encouraged to venture into this wild space. Few spots in Africa offer the possibility of enjoying a completely wild environment away from the usual safari circuits.

Liuwa plain is also a bird paradise where up to 350 species of birds have been recorded. During the annual flood, thousands of migratory birds arrive, especially storks and cranes.
