Hiking and trekking in Ngorongoro
Where and Duration
Hiking trails are available in the Olmoti and Empakai crater areas.
The walks in the Olmoti area are between one and two hours.
A minimum of half a day is required to explore the Empakai Crater.
For the more adventurous trekkers, we have a 5-day trek option, that goes from Ngorongoro to Lake Natron.
Minimum Stay
The minimum stay to include a hike in the Olmoti area is two nights. In order to trek in the Empakai area you need to spend at least 3 nights.
For the Ngorongoro to Lake Natron trek, you will require 5 more days after the Ngorongoro safari.
Restrictions
Though you do not need experience it is very important a physical fitness.
It is necessary to have a suitable climate.
A qualified guide must be available.
The minimum age for this activity is 16.
