Kunene region

THE HIMBA
The Kunene region is the land of the Himba, the last remaining semi-nomadic native people of Namibia. Principally a people of cow and goat herders, you’ll learn more about their culture and customs in the camp areas.
THE KUNENE RIVER
The Kunene River is the only permanent water source in the region, and a spot where the Himba take their herds to drink. Wildlife adapted to this desert environment such as oryx and jumping gazelles also come to its banks where giant Nile crocodiles wait to hunt them.
ACTIVITIES
In this remote region, which few travellers reach, you can enjoy different activities: interaction with the Himba, 4×4 tours, boat tours, trekking and even quad biking.
