Sabi Sand Game Reserve encompasses other private reserves such as Mala Mala, Sabi Sabi, Lion Sand, Londolozi and a few others.

The reserves that make up Sabi Sand are home to the big five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino. Wild dogs also roam through this mega reserve, as do cheetahs and other species such as zebras, giraffes, impalas, hippos and other species.

Sabi Sand borders the Kruger National Park. Since there is no physical separation between the two protected areas, the animals of Kruger move freely between both, especially within the private reserve of Mala Mala, directly on the border.
