Samburu National Reserve

WILDLIFE UNIQUE TO A SEMI-ARID CLIMATE
Samburu is located in a semi-arid region of Northern Kenya. Unique to the region, the oryx is one of the species adapted to this climate, and not found in more temperate areas such as the Masai-Mara.
THE SEMI-NOMADIC SAMBURU PEOPLE
This is the territory of the Samburu people, shepherds who drive their herds of cows, goats and camels to the river to water their cattle. Different communities in the area can be visited.
THE SAMBURU FIVE
Samburu is home to five unique species that you will not see in the rest of Kenya's parks: the reticulated giraffe, East African oryx, gerenuk, Grévy's zebra and the Somali ostrich.
